Mahta G's goals...

Mahta wishes to inspire other girls to become the best version of themselves by fostering their unique individual capabilities as she lives by that motto daily. She aims to empower woman to use their mental and physical strength to fight injustices imposed by society, such as gender pay gaps and the glass ceiling. Mahta is proposing an idea to the York Region District School Board to introduce martial arts/self-defence to elementary and secondary schools’ curriculum for female students in health and gym classes, that way to reduce chances of violence and assault against young women.

Began Karate at age 5 and made her way to becoming a Vice World Champion in 2017 WKF Youth World Cup in Croatia, Mahta is a multi-time Provincial, National and International medalist in both kata and kumite. As a Jr. National Team member she also marked her success at Jr. Pan Ams 2017, earning the Ontario Athlete Carding by the Provincial government. Violinist, Honors Student and avid HeforShe advocate for gender equality—she’s directly involved in Operation Smile Canada, Paradise Charity Group and 360°kids as a Youth Ambassador.
